People Keeping Well
Zest is the Lead Body for the People Keeping Well (PKW) Community Partnership for:
- Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe, Langsett and Walkley,
- Middlewood, Wadsley, Hillsborough, Walkley Bank, Wisewood and Woodland (usually referred to as the Hillsborough Partnership),
- Broomhill, Crookes, Lodge Moor, Stannington (West Care GP area).
What is People Keeping Well (PKW)?
PKW aims to resolve social issues and connect people to ‘things that matter to them’ locally which will reduce the risk and/or decline of poor health and wellbeing, so that people:
- Are more connected – they have made friends and have a peer network for support
- Are more resilient – they have coping mechanisms to deal with ‘life issues/crisis’ better
- Know where to go to get timely help – for example to manage long term conditions.

Join us! Working together in Partnership
As a Lead Body our role is to support voluntary community organisations, health trainers and those running community wellbeing activities to come together to:
- Support each other
- Promote each other’s activities and cross-refer
- Explore beneficial ways of working together
- Have a say on where resources should go (e.g. Small Grants)
- Find new ways of keeping people well in their communities.
If your community group or organisation would like to be part of the partnership – we would love to hear from you! Please contact Abi Goodman by email at abi.goodman@zestcommunity.co.uk with ‘PKW Partnership’ in the subject line.
