Zest are offering swimming activates as part of Sheffield Health Holidays, for all Sheffield children and young people eligible for free school meals – all completely FREE!
We have a number of different sessions taking place throughout the summer holidays.
A Swimming session for disabilities and SEND, will be available from 1.30 pm to 2.05 pm every Monday throughout August (excluding Monday 29th August). An adult MUST be in the water with the child.
There will then be a fun session from 2.15 pm to 2.50pm. This is for children who are or have met the Stage 4 Swim England standards. Please only register your child if they meet the criteria.
Swimming lessons will take place every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout August at 1.30pm and 2.05pm for 35 minutes. We have some extra places available for our lessons on a Wednesday at 2.15pm, these are open to 5-9 year olds and suitable for your child if:
They can not swim at all.
They are a complete beginner.
They may have never been in a swimming pool before
They may have been in the water before, but they can not swim and would need arm bands, back floats and other support.
They are water confident, i.e. they have been in the water before.
They can swim with aids (armbands, back floats, woggles or other support)

Please arrive at reception 10 minutes before the lesson is due to start to register your child and get your child ready for the swimming lessons.
When you first arrive at the building go to reception and tell the receptionist your child's name and we will mark your child down on the system. You can then proceed to the changing rooms to prepare your child for their swimming session.
Please drop off your child just before the lesson is due to begin. If you arrive too early, you will be asked to wait outside due to safety reasons. We recommend that your child arrives ‘beach ready’ with their swimwear already on which will speed up the process of getting them ready for their lesson.
No armbands or other buoyancy aids, Zest provides all the necessary equipment for your child’s lesson. Some children however may prefer to bring their own woggle.
Please ensure your child hasn’t eaten anything substantial before the session and encourage them to use the bathroom beforehand to minimise disruption to the lesson.
There will be no entry permitted for the lateness of 10 mins or more.

To ensure your child gets the most out of the lesson please make sure they are changed and ready to join straight away. You are then asked to wait within the library area whilst your child is having their lesson. If your child is over 8 you may leave the building but we advise that you stay close in case we need to get in touch with you. We do not allow you to wait in the changing area during the lessons.ription
Please return to the changing area to be ready to collect your child no earlier than 5 minutes before the lesson finishes. For safety reasons, please do not come onto the poolside whilst waiting for your child at the end of lessons. The teachers will send them to the exit of the swimming pool for you to collect them.
