Fantastic opportunities for professional Sheffield artists

We’re extending the Walkely & Upperthorpe Arts Trail.

Which means we’ve got three fantastic projects for Sheffield based artists to create fabulous street art in and around Infirmary Road, Sheffield.

We’re continuing the theme of nature and home so this an amazing chance to showcase your work to the thousands of people who visit this popular area of the city and help brighten up the community’s look and feel.

For the full brief and to submit a quote download the documents from the links below for each project.

Project 1

Transform the Old Police station. This run-down building is currently an eyesore situated directly next to the busy tram stop on Infirmary Road. Here’s your opportunity to make it sing.

We’re currently looking for one artist to create a large mural on the old police station on Infirmary Road. Please complete the Expression of Interest form for Old Police Station mural and return it no later than 28th June 2024. Please download and read the accompanying brief and guidance before submitting your application.

Enliven the look of a shop – even when it’s closed with a bright new shutter design at Pillar Nursing Placements (see picture below) and next to it one we did earlier at Pizza Paz.

We’re currently looking for one artist to create a mural on a shop shutter at Pillar Nursing Placements, Upperthorpe Road. Please complete the Expression of Interest form for Shop Shutter mural and return it no later than 28th June 2024. Project 3

Make these council owned boxes shine with your own fantastic design. Located on a highly visible stretch of Infirmary Road these boxes are getting noticed for all the wrong reasons.

We’re currently looking for five artists to create a mural on five comms boxes on Infirmary Road. Please complete the Expression of Interest form for Utility Box mural and return it no later than 28th June 2024. Please download and read the accompanying guidance before submitting your application.

Important: artists can make one application / expression of interest for each opportunity if they so wish. Please make sure you complete the correct application form for each project

The expansion of the Arts Trail has been supported by Sheffield City Council’s Economic Recovery Fund (ERF) initiative.

The goal of the ERF is to engage with the general public and encourage people back on to the high streets to shop locally. By brightening up areas with artwork and creating an improved environment the initiative hopes to increase footfall to our shops and trading outlets across the city.
