The 'BiG - Make it Your Business' programme is part of Sheffield's Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) which is working towards increasing enterprise opportunities and boosting economic growth across the city.

BIG have now been established within Zest since September 2007. The service is run by two Big neighbourhood enterprise champions Rob Murray and Saghir Ahmed. They also work with Luqman Jimoh, who is a business advisor for Sheffield Enterprise Agency.

BIG's main purpose is to assist local residents in starting their own business, and to provide support to local existing businesses. Their core purpose is to connect those with ideas for new businesses to the right opportunities. This could involve arranging the right training, individually tailored business advice, planning, mentoring, sales & marketing support as well as access to finance.

Since September 2007 Rob and Saghir have assisted more than 175 local residents. Their work to date has led to the formation of eleven new enterprises and they have also increased profitability for many existing businesses from the manufacture of outdoor multi-ovens to bespoke stained glasswork.
